My philosophy is simple – excel with every assignment. Always overdeliver. Pay careful attention to clear communication and client service, from initial contact through delivery. Prepare diligently, then stay alert and nimble to take advantage of new opportunities to improve the shot. Be considerate and patient. Remember that attitude is as important as talent in producing the best work.

I specialize in location photography of health care, location portraiture, architectural places and the natural world. I have a fondness for science and technology subjects. My specialty is making visual magic – extraordinary photographs of the everyday. I have a powerful imagination, a subtle eye for light, and very high technical skills to make my vision real.

For more than thirty-five years, my assignment work has taken me locally and internationally for Fortune 500 companies, health care organizations, advertising agencies, architects, designers and magazines. Whether a laboratory or a landscape, my photos are impeccably produced with clean composition, beautiful color and masterful use of light. I collaborate well and am keenly focused on making photos that support my client’s brand strategy. I’m a digital expert and meticulous at preparing photographs for reproduction, including compositing and color management.

From Maine to Malaysia, my vision has been forged over more than thirty-five years of professional photography. My point of view is that the world is a marvelous place, and it is my life’s work to capture and communicate that marvel with the camera. My personal passion is capturing the light of the natural world. I shoot with affirmation and empathy, committed to making a strong statement without pretense.  My photos are vivid yet nuanced – always, journeys of imagination.

I’ve been in love with photography since I got my first camera, a Brownie Starmite, in 1960. I built my first darkroom in junior high school. I grew up in Windsor Locks, Connecticut and hold a Bachelor of Science Degree from Syracuse University. I worked for Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Boston as a neuroscience photographer, then moved into commercial photography in 1975. After assisting several fine commercial photographers, I went on my own.

Photography, the Language of Light, is my vocation and my passion. My fine art work embraces the finest traditions of film photography and today’s digital media. I’m a master printer well known for the evocative beauty of my silver and gicleé prints.

I live in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, within easy striking distance of major airports and assignments anywhere.
